Computers have made our lives so much easier and complex at the same time. One of the industries the computer’s had a big impact in film making.
Practically everything is possible to visualize nowadays with the help from a computer that we often forget how people in the past used to make movies and how complex it sometimes was without the use of a computer.
Cartoonbrew has posted a very good article how the Fleischer studios made a 3D feel possible in their cartoon without the use of a computer 70 years ago.
Sin7sins is a Dutch metal band, or a goth/cyber/nu-metal formation as the sticker on their debut CD proclaims.
On Eastern Day they played in the Baroeg as part of a four band line up on Leaves’ Eyes tour and they put on a good enough show to persuade me to buy their CD and give it a try.
The DC animated universe is still pumping out new features, which is a good thing. And especially Batman is going to be busy.
Earlier it was announced that the Dark Knight would get the animated treatment. And now another Batman story arc, namely Batman: Year One, will also be made into an animated feature.
I really like The Office and in the US version Rainn Wilson plays a very funny role as Dwight Schrute, the ass kissing annoying co-worker.
Rainn Wilson has also co-written a funny and creative book called SoulPancake.
So, a comedy starring Rainn Wilson automatically has my interest. For his newest movie, Super, the intro is fully animated and looks pretty cool as can be seen from the clip below.
The redesign of dannydebi.com is finally done and live!
The current design is version 8 and makes even more use of CSS for the look and feel than before.
Gone is also the black color background. Even though I’m a fan of black and it fits the topics of my drawings, I went for a black, white and red color combination and in that color combo a white background somehow made it look more stylish and was better option than black.
The black background can still be found on the music and link page though, because the color combination for those pages has remained black & blue with tints of gold/beige.
Feel free to browse through dannydebi.com!
The first Planet of the Apes movie is a classic and resulted in numerous spin offs, of which I especially enjoyed a cartoon series and TV series when I was a kid.
In 2001 Tim Burton made a remake of Planet of the Apes and it sucked.
This year a prequel will be released called Rise of the Apes and the first trailer for it has been released.
Looking at the trailer I’m actually getting a bit excited about this movie.
A concert is of course best experienced live. You can’t ‘get’ or feel a concert watching it on TV.
But if you can’t be present in person, then the next best thing is to watch it on TV. At least you have a good view at the performers on stage instead of looking at the back of people’s head.
In my previous post I wrote about the package of the Big Four Live LE box set and the box itself looks good. The big question is, is the concert itself good as well?
In the early 90s I got introduced to metal and was immediately hooked. Main heroes from that period were Metallica amongst others and Slayer and Megadeth also soon followed.
But with the progressing age of these iconic bands, the music of these once metalgods started to decline.
Slayer pretty much still does what they did 20 years ago, playing it loud and fast. But especially Metallica makes mediocre crappy rock music nowadays.
But sometimes something happens that reminds you just how good these bands used to be and why they’re regarded as the founders of the trash metal genre.
The number of Thor related spin offs is getting crazier and crazier as we get closer to the release of the big live action movie this summer.
Aside from a new animated series, there’s also an animated 4 part mini series in the works telling the tale of the rivalry between the brothers Thor and Loki.
Thor isn’t one of my favourite superheroes and looking at the first trailer (see below) it seems very dull.
I am intrigued by the animation style though, it resembles the 3D rendering similar in Appleseed.
