A post on Discotek Media’s Facebook page hints at a DVD release for the awesome Samurai Pizza Cats. Even better news is that chances are it’ll be a complete series set! Let’s hope this is true.

Shout! Factory had already released a complete G.I. Joe box set in 2009 as a limited locker box.

Coming May 1st Shout! will re-release the complete series as a regular box for ‘unlimited’ unavailability. It’s not known if this new box will contain the same extras as the locker box.

Skeleton Warriors on DVD

In the 90s there was an animated series called Skeleton Warriors. As the name says it featured skeletons dressed up as warriors and battling each other.

How could I not like that? Aside from my fondness for skulls it also was a watchable animated show. Perhaps not as popular as other animated series, but still good.

Coming December the entire series will be released by Gary Goddard Entertainment. The 2-disc set will contain all 13 episodes as well as extras.

The Transformers have had various incarnations including several animated series after the original series from the 80s ended. Most of these spin offs suck, but Beast Wars is one of the few that is actually good.

I’m still not a big fan of the CG animation in Beast Wars, but in terms of Transformers designs and story it’s good.

Coming November 1st a complete box will be released via general retailers. Earlier it was only available via Shout! Factory’s site.

Coming weekend the biggest Comic Com will take place in San Diego, the SDCC. Lots of interesting stuff will debut at this con as well as SDCC exclusives/limited editions.

One of the limited editions is the complete 2nd season of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe from Mill Creek Entertainment which will have a different cover than the regular edition which will be released two months later than this SDCC exclusive.

I’m very happy with my BCI sets, so despite the attractive cover I’ll skip this one.

A few years ago Shout! Factory released the first 40 so episodes of 80s cartoon series C.O.P.S., but never the final 22 episodes.

Mill Creek Entertainment has re-released the first 32 episodes last February and according to a mailing from Mill Creek a volume 2 may be in the works which would contain the final 33 episodes. Rumoured release date is 13th of September.

He-man Returns to DVD

After BCI Eclipse went out of business, Mill Creek Entertainment took over the licence for He-man and the Masters of the Universe. And as a follow up to the season 1 release, Mill Creek will release the complete second season on September 13th.

The box art looks nice again, but I’ll stick to my excellent BCI releases.

MASK coming to DVD in the US

Eigthies cartoon classic M.A.S.K. was already released on DVD in the UK, but the US is now also getting an official release.

Unlike the UK version the US complete box will NOT include the ‘racing series’, which is a good thing probably because the racing series is just a piece of garbage.

Extras are yet to be announced, but rumours say a featurette about the voice cast is to be included as well as a decal sticker.

Swat Kats Coming to DVD

The Swat Kats were one of the cooler cartoons from the 90s on Cartoon Network, but haven’t been released on DVD so far sadly.

But TVShowOnDVD is reporting that December 14 WB will finally be releasing the complete series.

The catch is though that it will be Manufacturing on Demand and only available from the WBshop. The WB shop doesn’t ship internationally nor does the news mention it will be available elswhere.

Guess WB leaves me no choice but to download it once it’s available. And the idiotic entertainment industry wonders why so many people download their stuff…

TVShowsOnDVD reports that a complete box for Scooby-Doo, Where Are You series is coming to DVD on November 9th and it will be in a very cool looking limited box.

Why don’t more companies release these kinds of cool limited edition boxes?
