I already mentioned the cheaper box art for the recently released Justice League DVD box. Batman Beyond was also released last week, and with this release WB also went cheapo style and gave us a cheap digipack instead of a handsome fold out digipack. I haven`t gotten around to watch the episodes yet, but I bet this release also doesn`t have chapters. WB sometimes suck!

Even though Warner Bros seriously dropped the ball on the package of the last week released Justice league DVD box, the episodes themselves are still top notch.
In the last couple of days I`ve been watching the episodes, and I must say that I sometmes think that the creative team has even surpassed their masterpiece Batman TAS. (more)

Today I got a nice package with some DVDs, among them the first season box of the Justice League. Though I`m happy that WB has finally decided to release this series as a boxset instead of loose volumes, I was quite disappointed when I opened the box.

In my latest book package there was also a really nice book from Jerry Beck. Beck is a researcher. The only difference with other researchers is that Beck has devoted his time and resources to doing genuine research about animation - the lucky bastard - and not boring stuff no one cares about except the reseachers themselves. In The Animated Movie, Beck (with help from others) reviews every movie that has been released in the US in the theaters. One hell of a job, and one hell of a book!

I had been waiting for quite some time again on a package from Amazon, and of course those fucking assholes from customs had intercepted it. But last week it finally arrived, and let me just say that the people at customs are still useless fucking morons which I hope all get anthraxed real soon. 
But anyway, the package contained The Ultimate Collection from Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell amongst others.

Bandai has released the 4th serie of their Neon Genesis Evangelion capsule toys. And again they did a terrific job. Instead of buying teh loose capsule I just got a set instead. Save me time and money collecting all the different figs ;)

Here in Europe we have an annual crapfest called the Eurovision Song Festival. The Eurovision Songfestival is a horrible evening filled with crappy songs performed by even crappier artists. Each country sends in their representative, and at the end of the night the citizens of all the participating countries vote which song is the best (or least worst -depending on your point of view) song of the night.
However this year they may actually be at least one cool entry, namely Lordi, the Finland entry. See their national performance here. And remember that the Eurovision Songfestival is supposed to be a nice family event :)

Even though Dutch people in general are very tolerable towards minorities, we have a fucking heartless racist as our minister of Immigration and Integration.
Rita Verdonk is the minister of IAI, and her basic policy is to throw everyone out of the country who isn`t Dutch from origin, including those who have a Dutch nationality. Fortunately the Law prevents her from doing this. (more)
