Metal gods Slayer released their latest album last month, and it seems they`re still angry at God (well who isn`t actually) fittingly naming their new album Christ Illusion.
And continuing from their last album, also fittingly named God Hates us All, they continue what they do best namely playing it hard and fast!
Even though I really liked Diabolus in Musica and hoped Slayer would continue along that line, the newest albums has the typical Slayer sound back and prove why Slayer is still one of the best metal bands around - even after more than 20 years!

On a sidenote they will be playing in the Netherlands next month as part of the Unholy Alliance! For a brief moment Hell will be present in tiny Holland.

A few weeks back there was the news that some fucking moron from Britain complained that there was smoking in a Tom & Jerry cartoon and that it was harmful for children to watch.
The equally retarded Americans of course took the complaint serious and promissed to shift through the entire Turner cartoon catalog to filter out such 'shocking behaviour' in all the cartoons.
I honestly hope this person and all the people who took the complaint serious, die of lung cancer. It should be a fitting end for those fucking morons.
Anyway to avoid the current available Tom & Jerry toons taken off the market I purchased a nice collection on which I had set my sight for quite some time. (And of course a week after my purchase it`s on sale with a deduction of 20% of the price, grrrr)

Yesterday it seemed my scanner was broken, but today I did the exact same thing as yesterday and now the crap thing works as it should.
Sometimes I think machines are actually alive and their only purpose is to fuck with human minds. Anyway I`m glad I didn`t rush in and bought a new one, leaves more money for beer in the weekend ;)

Well today I think I broke my scanner :(
The crap thing produced some really weird distorded pictures when I tried to scan a few drawings (and no the problem wasn`t my drawings) So until I find a new scanner or figure out what the hell is wrong with the current, I won`t be able to work on new material :( :(

Before there was He-man, there was Blackstar. Blackstar was a short lived cartoon shown at the beginning of the 80s and made by Filmation. Though not one of the most popular toons from the 80s, it did have a DVD release recently containg the entire serie. And a few days back it came with the mail.

12 September 06 - 19:23Not disturbed, just no talent
Last week I saw another confirmation that the creative sector in the US is at one of the lowest points in decades. Lately a large part of the Hollywood movies either seem to be based on an already existing TV shows or franchise, or are a remake or is a sequel.
It seems the music sector also isn`t experiencing it`s finest creative moment in certain areas, judging by Disturbed`s latest musical endeavor, namely a cover of Genesis` Land of Confusion.
Now, if an artists completely changes the rythym or sound, at least one can say the artist put some effort in covering the song. But Disturbed basically just played it exactly like Genesis did, with the exception that Phil Collins is still a better singer than David Draiman for this song.
But nevertheless there`s one thing that`s very cool about Disturbed`s version of Land of Confusion, and that is the video clip. You can watch it at YouTube. The original song was an animated videoclip featuring puppets. Disturbed`s version is an all animated videoclips by McFarlane and it looks pretty cool. And of course the song itself is also still cool, even though Disturbed added nothing to it.
BTW the fact that the clip wasn`t on TV until recently just shows how behind the TV stations here are.

It`s been a few weeks since I saw a new anime and liked. But I recently saw the first episode of Negima (aka Maho Sensei Negima!) and it looked cool so I decided to get the first volume.
Negima is an anime about the 10-year Negi Springfield who is the English teached at an all girl high school. And if a 10 year old boy educating teenage girls isn`t enough reason for comedic situations, Negi also happens to be a wizard in training.
Last week the first volume arrived, and I must say that in terms of packaging it certainly was a good decision to get this serie.

Yesterday famed crocodile hunter Steve Irwin died due to a stingray attack. Most people will remember him as that crazy aussie guy interacting with the most dangerous animals. Even though I don`t read comics (anymore), I did stumble across a really cool comic I just couldn`t resist browsing through. And with browsing I mean literally browsing, because someone put Action Comic #1 intergrally online!
And for those who don`t know the significance of this issue, it`s the very first appearance of Superman, and with it the starting point of the superhero genre.
