One of the highest anticipated toys of the year was of course the Masterpiece version of Megatron in his gun mode. Would we ever see a new Megatron toy in his original gun incarnation? Yes, and not just any toy but the masterpiece treatment was the answer from Takara.
I’ve had the toy for a few months now, but didn’t have any time to take pictures. The fact that it’s winter and there’s little daylight to take decent pictures also dind’t help. But I’ve finally taken some pictures of this impressive toy.

TVShowsOnDVD posted some more info about the upcoming release of the highly anticipated classic toon Mysterious Cities of Gold. Apparently there will be a release for the UK as well as the US. For the UK date and extras have been announced, and the set will be released in March 2008. TVShowsOnDVD lists the extras and based on the list alone it seems Fabulous Films is putting quite some effort into this release. For me personally this is one of the releases I'm looking forward to in 2008. Can't wait!
Hollywood Reporter has the news that the highly anticipated Lord of the Riongs prequel, The Hobbit, will happen and that Peter Jackson will be the director. There will be two movies according to the post, and the first one is expected to be shown on the big screen in 2010.
The were a few announcements in the last couple of weeks for toons coming to DVD. Below are the most imporant ones IMO, or at least the ones that I recall.
He-man 2002
The 2002 version of He-man is coming tot DVD on the 19th of February 2008. TVShowsOnDVD posts the news, extras and Cover art.
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors But the biggest news is of course the announcement of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors coming to DVD on the 25th of March 2008! The cover art looks like crap, but as long as the episodes are released on DVD, in this case I won't care about the cover art.
I arrived last week back from 5 weeks in India, and it's friggin' cold here!!
Though you can never really get used to the cold, I'm slowly adjusting. Hopefully now I'll find some time to post new things on my blog again in the coming days.
