More Ross Art
Recently I got the Absolute Kindome Come by Alex Ross and Mark Waid. I`m quite fond of Ross` art, so I decided to also get The World Greatest Superheroes which also collects some of Ross` finest work.

In the 90s Alex Ross and Paul Dini made 5 really oversized comics starring the iconic characters from DC starting with Superman, then Batman, Wonder Woman, Shazam and finally the Justice League.

I already had the Superman and Batman comics so I was familiair with them. And after reading I could only conclude that the mere purpose of these comics wasn`t the story but solely to display Ross` amazing art.
Now all those 5 separate volumes have been collected in one volume. Even though this edition doesn`t fall under the Absolute editions (I think) it certainly has the same style in terms of its format.
The book is a HC oversized book with a slipcover. The slipcover has all the main heroes in a standing pose. The cover of the book itself is the one that is shown at the majority of the e-tailers.

(On a sidenote, even though this collection is in comparisson to a normal comic, a really oversized book, it actually is smaller in size than the original publications which were really really oversized.)

Anyway, the book is packed with Ross art again and you really can`t deny the fact that ROss is one fucking good artist. Sure he cheats by using many references, but you`ve got to admit it looks really good :)
